Facility Highlights

Hikes at Cooper’s Rock: Adventure therapy through hiking local trails offers participants a transformative journey towards healing and renewal. Along the trails, moments of shared accomplishment and supportive camaraderie create bonds among participants, reinforcing a community of encouragement and understanding.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy: We offer Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) through a meaningful partnership with On Eagles’ Wings Therapeutic Horsemanship. This specialized therapy combines the expertise of a mental health therapist and an equine specialist to provide transformative experiences with horses. Through structured interactions with horses, participants learn valuable skills such as building confidence, enhancing self-awareness, and cultivating empathy.

Smile Express: We are committed to the holistic health of our guests, which includes ensuring access to excellent dental care through a partnership with the Monongalia County Health Department Mobile Dental Office. The SmileExpress Bus visits our center once a month, providing a range of dental services right on-site. This collaboration allows participants in our program to receive essential dental care conveniently and without barriers.

CrossFit Sessions: We partner with a local gym to provide tailored physical health and exercise programs designed to alleviate withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and stress by promoting physical activity as a natural mood enhancer. Regular exercise helps to distract from cravings, improve sleep quality, and boost self-esteem, which are crucial factors in the recovery journey. Moreover, participating in these programs encourages individuals to build positive social connections within a supportive environment, steering them away from old triggers and reinforcing healthier lifestyle choices.

Yoga Classes: We partner with certified local yoga instructors to provide weekly yoga classes for guests in our program. These sessions are carefully designed to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being through a combination of yoga postures, breathing exercises, meditation, guided imagery and relaxation techniques. Each class aims to promote optimal mental and physical health through therapeutic practices.

Bowling & Movie Outings: We offer regular outings to bowling alleys and movie theaters for our participants. These activities provide more than just entertainment; they create opportunities for socialization, relaxation, and enjoyment in a supportive environment.

Off-Campus Church: We believe in supporting the spiritual well-being of our participants by providing access to off-campus church services. We recognize the importance of faith and spiritual growth as integral components of the recovery journey. Through partnerships with local churches, participants have the opportunity to attend services that align with their beliefs and values, fostering a supportive environment where they can find solace, guidance, and community.

On- & Off-Campus AA/NA Groups: We prioritize comprehensive support by offering participants access to both on- and off-campus AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) groups. These groups serve as integral components of our recovery program, providing a supportive environment where individuals can share experiences, gain insights, and receive encouragement from peers who understand their journey.

The hospital-based treatment service she worked at for those years is where I found my passion for the industry. Now as the Lead Admissions Coordinator, she loves being the first voice that clients hear when they’re making that difficult phone call to seek help and being able to help them navigate their way into recovery.

When she is not working, she loves camping, kayaking and traveling with her husband and two sons.  Most of her free time is spent being a sports mom and shuffling kids to and from practices and games, which she loves doing.
