The Signs of an SUD

Someone who is addicted to substances will show some degree of change in their behaviors and thought patterns. Changes can include destructive changes in personal relationships and work, or in the way their body looks and feels. The behavior of people with a substance use disorder can vary greatly depending on the type of drug they are abusing, the extent to which they abuse it and other factors such as physical dependence.

Some of the signs that show someone may be addicted include:  changes in personality and behavior like a lack of motivation, irritability and agitation; shakes, tremors or slurred speech; changes in their routines; lack of concern for personal hygiene; and excessive need for money/financial problems.
